From a Small Village to the Heart of America

Friends, glad you’re here, Your trust and business is a Privilege we don’t take lightly, so just know we’ll Always put forth our best for you! Now lets give you the story of Nick’s….

Born in a small village in North India (Fatehabad) my Family and I came to the United States 4 decades ago. America was the place that all immigrants wanted to get to and we were lucky enough to make this great land our home. With limited resources we had to be smart, so we built a garden outside our home in Northern VA and farmed it. It was the most economical way to eat and we were Indian Farmers so it made sense. For the first 12 years of my life, every meal I ate came out of that garden, except for Fridays. Which was Pizza night, my Favorite night Ever. We got to make Pizza and took a break from the Indian Food overload. Pizza became my Out, I related it directly with Happiness. I knew well as a child, Pizza would have a Special Place in my Heart, and it does. Day after day, all I wanted to do was make pizza and start a business one day.

But, and there’s always a But… I was a headed down a bad path in life during adolescents. I was a troubled young man that really needed to get his priorities straight (and stay out of prison). By the grace of God, on a jog one day I got approached by this Super Sharp dressed Man, who asked me if “I wanted to do something significant in life.” Since I had no direction whatsoever, I agreed to do what he said, which led me to some really weird Yellow footprints, at a place called Parris Island, SC…. He was right, if anything will change a man, THIS PLACE WILL….  And so the Journey began….

Soon thereafter 9/11 hits us and my entire Generation enters the Global War of Terrorism. Something that my generation suffered for over 2 decades. Being a Military guy, I found myself in many places during this conflict, whether it was the mountains of Kosovo, deserts of Iraq, villages of Afghanistan, or the U.S. Capital, I had the Privilege to serve the Great country that gave my family a chance in life. What a Blessing.

So now that the 20 year Bachelor Party comes to an end, what does a guy like me do? I lived my best years as a military Sniper, and now I’m old and banged up, so what do I do in this next chapter in life? This is where we go back to the Pizza!

It’s time to make Pizza with Precision!! At Nick’s we take the Pizza game to the next level. In my travels around the world I learned that open flame cooking gave bread the ultimate edge. Regardless of the type of bread, whether its Nan, Pita, Middle Eastern Breads, or Pizza, cooking open flame was superior than any other method. At Nick’s our Pizzas are all cooked open flame, through wood, in brick ovens.  We make our dough from scratch, and rise it every morning. We make our Signature Sauces from Scratch, and Cut most of our Vegetables, Cheeses, and Meats in House Daily. In a nutshell, Nick’s is a pizza recipe that’s taken 40 years and multiple small businesses to master (Sbarro, Grapevine Pizza, Plush Pizza, Café Vino). I personally oversee every batch of dough made and make sure our sauce protocols are followed strictly, this way I know that every pie we send out has been hand crafted to my recipes. Our sandwiches are handmade with the best ingredients I could find, and stacked. I Hate wimpy sandwiches, so at Nick’s we DON’T serve wimpy portion stuff at all.  I would never feed you anything, I wouldn’t feed my own kids, and I’ll make it happen at an affordable price for a family. Going out to eat shouldn’t break the bank, and I believe a family of 4/5 can be fed fresh ingredients, and served a high Quality product for under $50. I raised 3 kids as a Single Dad, so I get it, believe me. And at Nick’s we will be sure to stick to our promises. You have my Word, Nick.
